BLACKFISH OPPOSING VIEW

This is my view, I believe that killer whales shouldn’t be held captive, but here are some reasons that the opposing side would possibly use. Firstly, if killer whales were held captive, they would be able to get taken care of right away as well as get the attention that is needed rather than being in the wild and possibly dying. Secondly, killer whales and orcas would get to be trained if they were being used for shows. Maybe even learning new tricks. Those are just some examples of what could be said if you were for killer whales being captive.

FREE WRITE

Again I have no ideas in mind to write about, but I do have a special event happening after school. I’m going to visit my old fifth grade teacher, Ms. Van Wyk. But that’s not the end of it. My friends and I are going to get a pass so that we can go possibly tomorrow during lunch, if everything works out. I’m actually quite excited, but every time I do try going, she’s not there. Therefore I’m hoping and praying that she’ll still be at school at the end of the day. I only partially want to go because there’s nothing to do during lunchtime, some of the tables don’t even get to go. This time around though there’s not going to be a whole bunch of people... I hope.

BLACKFISH REVIEW

Blackfish is a documentary about Sea World and the killer whales. In my opinion, it was very truthful. It gave us a perspective of behind the scenes of Sea World. The truth. I didn’t cry but the documentary saddened me. Especially seeing the killer whales and orcas getting hurt. Knowing how dangerous they were to be around, the risked it all. What got me upset was that Dawn’s death was placed on her, and that they lied about the real reason on how she died. I was a bit confused about the ending, maybe it was to show how happy the orcas were in the wild?? I don’t know but overall the documentary was interesting.

FICTION VS NON FICTION

F I C T I O N. Meaning, fake or not real, imaginary. N O N   F I C T I O N. Meaning true facts or real events. Unicorns for example, fiction. Now spiders, non fiction. If I had a choice I’d say fiction all the way. The books interest me more. I feel like I can be more eganged in reading when it comes to a fiction book. Yes, I do prefer the information coming from non fiction books. But non fiction doesn’t have as much action put into them compared to a fiction book. I guess different people have a different opinion on fiction VS nonfiction.

WINTER BREAK

Over winter break, I wasn’t very productive. I stayed home in bed and that was it. I really only  did something on the two holidays, Christmas and New Years Eve. Now I’m not saying I did nothing over break. I did, just not a lot of things that are worth sharing. More like small stories. Everything was pretty spontaneous over break. For example, my brother and I planned on helping my sister move, but instead we just played around. And ended up sleeping over. We started off the night around eight playing hide and go seek in the dark. Four people playing, one floor. I got poked in the eye, and sat on. Fun. Hide and go seek got boring after an hour, so we moved on. By playing “the floor is lava”. We started off by the by the stairs. Things got tense, “the floor is lava” ended quickly due to my sister dropping and breaking one of my grandmas’ glass bowls. It broke everywhere! Glass was all over the place! Other than that fun night, I did the usual. Celebrated Christmas and New Years Eve.

NEW YEARS RESOLUTION

I didn’t set any resolutions this year, I hardly ever do. Mostly because of the reason that I never accomplish them. I may set goals here and there throughout the year, but I wouldn’t consider those as resolutions. They’re more like short term goals. And I don’t expect myself to accomplish them within one year. Sometimes if I’m feeling confident, I’ll go after a goal that I want to be accomplished.  Most of the time if you can guess, they’re normally school related. For example, like getting better grades, participating more. Small things.
